Waiting on Wednesday!!!

Published July 25, 2012 by crysbookreviews

The eyes never lie. No one’s eyes are darker than Eryx. Not even the Devil’s.

When Jax and Sasha first see Jordan Ellis, they know she is no ordinary teenager. She’s the daughter of the President after all, but she’s also Anabo – a descendant of Eve.

What they don’t know is that Eryx plans to kidnap Jordan and force President Ellis to pledge his soul. If Eryx’s plot succeeds, the consequences would be catastrophic.

But the Mephisto brothers do know about Jordan’s secret identity. And for one of them, she could be the match that leads to their soul’s salvation.

Now it’s a desperate race against time to save Jordan and prevent Eryx’s haunting eyes from discovering her true identity.

A thrilling story of romance, danger, and intrigue, THE MEPHISTO KISS continues the marvelous mythology that began in THE MEPHISTO COVENANT. From Goodreads.

Why Am I Waiting For It?

I have been waiting a while for this book because I absolutely LOVED the Mephisto Covenant. I can’t wait to read this book because that means I get to reread the first one. Which also means you guys get another review. The covers to both books are amazing. This book comes out September 25, 2012. I will definitely have the book ASAP, I can’t wait to find out which brother she will redeem.

Fated by Courtney Cole (Bloodstone Saga #2)

Seventeen-year old Macy Lockhart thought she had it all figured out.

As a Keeper in the ancient organization, the Order of the Moirae, she literally holds fate in her hands. She lives over and over in lives that end tragically; all to further the good of mankind as she does her part to control destiny.
But there’s one lesson that she hasn’t learned well enough. Nothing is ever what it seems.

Startling new revelations about her identity surface and Macy realizes that she’s more important than she ever imagined.

As she struggles to grasp her new reality, everyone she loves is threatened. Is she strong enough to save them all? From Goodreads.

Wow this second book was really good. There was more love and action throughout the whole book. And the ending…just wow. Once again Macy is dealing with something different. The Fates hurt her so that they can have a conversation on how she isn’t holding up to dealing with her charge.

There were so many new secrets that come out. Apparently no one is who they seem to be. Still throughout the story Gavin and Macy are steadily together. Their love is unbreakable, or is it? Macy finds out that she is a goddess, mind you a minor one but one nonetheless. Gavin has been her husband since the beginning of time basically and they have loved each other fiercely before losing each other dramatically. Not only that, but the decisions that she has pushed her charge to do have been hurtful to her and everyone else.

I don’t want to say too much about it because you really should read it. I have only started the series, I still have to get the other books to finish it off but if the other books are as good as the first two books, I can’t wait to read those. Courtney changed mythology enough that it makes it a lot different from everyone else that has written about something similar.

I give this book 4 out of 5 books.

Every Last Kiss by Courtney Cole (Bloodstone Saga #1)

Born a goddess. Controlled by the Fates. Can Macy’s love for her soul mate survive the bonds of time… and death?

17-year old Macy Lockhart is as far from normal as any one girl can be. The problem is, she doesn’t know it yet.

After a bloodstone pendant is mysteriously left on her door, Macy’s life begins to change in ways she’d never dreamed. And while she will eventually come to realize that nothing is ever what it seems, that her life is a tangled web of lies and the Fates themselves pull the strings, for now she is left with only the explanations that they offer her.

Macy is led to believe that if she doesn’t return to a previous doomed life, one in which she served as Queen Cleopatra ‘s handmaiden, the fate of the entire world will be threatened in a way that would destroy history as we know it. She learns that she has lived thousands of lives, each one ending tragically…but none as tragic as this one.

After returning to ancient Egypt, she is faced with heart-wrenching decisions. Unless she interferes with Fate’s plan, the very thing she was born to protect, her soul mate will die leading Marc Antony’s forces against Rome. Can she really stand aside and watch the love of her life die all over again?

In this fascinating novel-length prequel to The Bloodstone Saga, Courtney Cole sets the stage for an epic journey that will have readers holding their breath until the very last page of the very last book has been turned.

What would you do if you held Fate in your hands? From Goodreads.

Poor Macy or Charmian, in the now she is Macy but she is thrown back into a previous life of hers as Charmian, Cleopatra’s hand maiden and friend. She was just having one of those weeks, she found out her boyfriend cheated on her so she dumped him after 2 years worth of dating then she is sent back in time by a priest.

Meanwhile Macy is there and she is trying not to mess up the past but it is so hard for her since Annen, the priest, also brought a bad guy back from the dead to show her that the Fates can be changed. Still she was trying so hard to keep it the same. Eventually she has to tell Cleopatra, and then she tells Iras and Marc Antony because Iras was there and Antony saved her but had heard the conversation.

Throughout the story she is madly in love with Hasani, her soul mate. They spend time together and have been together since they were teenagers; they have not married only because of their duties. His to Antony and hers to Cleopatra but they are seen as married since they have been together for so long at that point. He is quite dreamy, warrior type that is gentle and oddly enough only has eyes for her in that time.

When she comes back, after setting everything right again, she is heartbroken because she lost Hasani, Cleopatra, and Antony. She was having a hard time going from one time to the other. When her best friends get her out of the house she runs into her ex, who seems to think that they are going to get back together. She of course tells him no, she knows out there that there is something better for her even if he isn’t around anymore. Or she thinks. Eventually she finds out that they will meet again. And they do! Gavin is new in town and she is just lucky enough to find him at a sandwich shop when she goes to get her mom lunch.

This book was amazing; there was mystery, love, comedy and drama. I was hooked throughout the whole story.

I give the first book 4 out of 5 stars.
