Happy New Year everyone! I am back now and am happy to be blogging again. It took a little while to set up my laptop and I am still finishing it up but I figured it was close enough to get started now.

Why I am waiting for it?
One because I LOOOOVVVVEEEE Claire and Shane. Two because I love Eva and Micheal. Three because I am 12 books invested into this series and each book is more shocking than the last one. And this is the third to last book in the series, which yes I will sad because I love the series so far. I can’t wait for this book to be released on November 6th, 2012.

Now I enjoyed the first one of these books but I have to say that I really enjoyed this one way more. I thought that the way that Jessica stood up for not only herself but for Lucius was amazing. I was a little upset that she cowered a little bit but luckily she became not only a soon to be Queen but also a heroine.
This time around, Lucius was set up by some other vampires so that Jessica could get out of the way. Crazy right? Not as crazy as it was when I found out who did and everything they did to make Jessica look bad in front of ALL the other vampires. At that point I was FURIOUS. Yes I do realize that I have used caps there that was because I was so mad at that point.
There were a few new characters in the book and few old ones. I liked the old ones, I thought the new ones were nice enough but that wasn’t true. Now I know I seem to be saying the same thing over and over again but I really couldn’t believe it.
Anyway someone was murdered; there were secrets Jessica learned about other vampires that she trusted and almost a heartbreaking end. But everything ended up for the best.
I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars.
Blood Moon by Alyxandra Harvey (Drake Chronicles #5)

Now I know a lot of people are like “another vampire story” but honestly this is one of the few that I absolutely love reading. I love how the characters grow in each story. Plus I love Lucy, I think she is not only hilarious but an awesome heroine.
This time around I normally am all for Solange but I just couldn’t help but dislike her, of course the ending did help me understand a little bit about what the eff was happening to her. Now that I have an idea of what was wrong with her, I can say I want to know how it happened because it makes no sense to me.
Now Nicholas I felt so bad for, why he always ends up with the worse things to deal with. But he is an amazingly strong person, willing to do anything to get back to Lucy because he loves her that much. I know that what he went through was not romantic or anything but what he thought about while going through it definitely was.
Now I don’t want to give away too much since this is the second to last of the series and yes I am going to be sad when it ends, I love all the crazy characters in it and I really really wanted to see a happy ending for ALL the Drakes.

This book was really cute and funny. I felt so bad for Jessica, all of a sudden she is learning that she is a vampire and that she is betrothed!!! I mean it is the 21st century and all but still, I am assuming the vampires are all old school, like super old school.
Of course being betrothed to a super hot vampire prince named Lucius? Not so bad, until you find out he is kind of a douche. I assume it was because of the way he was raised. You learn eventually how he was raised so it really makes a lot of sense. I loved how eventually Jessica/Anastasia realizes how she feels and tries to break up Lucius and her. Of course based on the name of the second book, you know it worked.
Meanwhile Jessica/Anastasia finds out what he really planned on doing to her once they got together. That scared her but because of stupid people he ends up leaving but she thinks he is dead. So she stays away from almost everyone in her school afterwards. I am sure if guys in my high school tried to kill my boyfriend or betrothed, I wouldn’t exactly be rolling out the welcome mat.
I really enjoyed reading this book, the ending was a huge surprise which I won’t even hint at because you should read it.

Mirage by Kristi Cook (Winterhaven #2)

Wow, I can honestly say the second book was WAY WAY better then the first and I loved the first book. So much happened in Mirage I almost don’t know where to start. There were so many secrets in this book I was surprised that the relationships lasted.
Violet ends up with a new coach, who is actually good for her because he does teach her a lot of things. She ends up using these new things to help with her visions that she has to help figure things out more. Like the vision she had in Haven, if you read the first book you know exactly which vision I am talking about. Now the coach also happens to be a very young, very hot teacher who has secrets of his own as well.
Aiden is working almost day and night to get a cure for his vampirism so he can be with Violet for the rest of her life. I felt bad for Aiden because someone was going behind his back and tampering with the cure that was causing some not so great side effects. Basically life couldn’t get any harder for Violet and Aiden. No matter how hard they try to be together it is like fate refuses to allow it for some reason.
There are some new characters in this book that are definitely going to have bigger parts in the next book and I can’t wait till that book comes out. I know I may be heartbroken at the end of that book but I hope not as much as I was when this book ended. I still love my happily ever afters, it is the romantic in me.

I absolutely loved this book! I like how Violet wasn’t just a girl but that she was psychic and able to have visions from the future. I know there are a lot of books about psychics but how many are in a school full of psychics and vampires? Oh and werewolves. Yea, it was pretty awesome.
I loved the relationship between Aiden and Violet. I thought it was cute, even though I am one of those that aren’t for insta-love. I loved how their relationship grew as time went on. I also liked how they fought, of course it isn’t about normal stuff because she is psychic and he was a vampire. Plus everyone loves a hot vampire.
I was really surprised to find out that Violet wasn’t only just a psychic, of course I won’t tell you want that is. You would just have to read the book to find that out. I also thought that it was pretty awesome and definitely made everything more suspenseful.
The biggest shocker I think I had been finding out who betrayed Violet and Aiden. I was so upset about it; I really thought that person was a good person. Yea I am not giving any details because once again, you should definitely read these books. I hope we find out why he chose to do what he did but you never know, it may just stay a mystery.
I reread this book to make sure I remembered what happened before I read Mirage, the second book by Kristi Cook. It didn’t disappoint me the second time around either.

I do have to say Mrs. Clare sure can write amazing books. I haven’t read a single book that I haven’t fallen in love with by her. I hope I always love her books as much as I love this series and her Infernal Device series.
I loved how this book began right where City of Fallen Angels left off. Poor Clary, not knowing what was happening to Jace who she obviously loved more than her own safety. And Alec and Izzy are willing to do anything to help her get him back. Of course what brother and sister wouldn’t do that after losing their youngest brother? Of course that statement doesn’t work with Clary and Jonathan/Sebastian.
I thought the book was so heartfelt. I wanted Jace back, I wanted Alec to get over his insecurities with Magnus, and I wanted Izzy to realize that loving someone wouldn’t break you. There were so many moments that I wanted to scream at the book but there were other moments that I just couldn’t believe were happening.
I totally think I know who Brother Zachariah is but I hope I am wrong. Of course I could totally be wrong and then it wouldn’t matter what I thought to begin with. When you read this book, I am sure you will think the same thing that I did.
I don’t want to give too away because all of Cassandra Clare’s books are worth reading. A lot.

Vampire Crush by A.M. Robinson
I swear, my life was always totally normal.
Normal house, normal family, normal school. My looks are average, I don’t have any superpowers, no one’s showing up to tell me I’m a princess you get the picture. But when my junior year started, something not normal happened. There were new kids at school . . . new kids with a wardrobe straight out of a 19th-century romance novel, and an inexplicable desire to stay at school until sundown.
And on top of that, James Hallowell showed up. James, who stole my sandwiches in fourth grade and teased me mercilessly through middle school. James, who now seems to have the power to make my heart race any time he comes near.

Oh how I love vampire stories. Obviously that stems from no not Twilight, but from Anne Rice and the black and white version of Dracula that I have loved since I was a kid.
Sophie is a hilarious character; she is always snooping around but totally blames it on the fact that she is a journalist. She is a total loner and doesn’t have any friends even though people try to be her friend all the time. I like that she cares about her school and her stepsister enough to do some crazy things. Of course who wouldn’t do that for her family?
I like how James and Sophie’s friendship and relationship was, I loved that they are always joking with each other and obviously cared about each other before he moved away with his family. Every vampire in the book except for Vlad had their moments where they were really funny. Vlad mainly stayed crazy for me, I couldn’t believe that he threatened Sophie then did a complete 180 with her.
Of course he was too late and she was with James at that point, kinda at least. Sophie gave up her life for her stepsister just so she could live. Of course James made sure that she didn’t go away because he has loved her since they were kids. I almost want that there to be a second book to see how Sophie handles everything else now. But as a standalone it was really good. I laughed throughout the book.
