Here!

Excerpt:

“I still don’t know enough about you.”

“You know I am the son of evil. I live in a fortressed city far from here, and I enjoy a good Pinot and fast

cars as much as you do. Is there anything else you need to know?”

She seemed pensive for a moment. “Do you have a girlfriend?”

“A girlfriend? No.”

“Then a wife, or anything else?”

“None of the above.” I shook my head. “And if it puts you at ease, it has been longer than I care to admit

since I have been with a woman.”

“It doesn’t put me at ease. It means you’re desperate.”

“Desperate? If I were desperate I would have slept with the girl hanging all over me at that dive bar the

other night.”

“You hang out at dive bars?”

“It’s the atmosphere that attracts me. I like to blend in. I go there because no one knows me, and no

one cares.”

“That sounds kind of sad.” She played with the hem of her pajama shirt.

“It’s no sadder than you turning into a recluse because of what happened to you. They are the ones that

should hide. Not you.” I took her chin in my hand. “You should never hide.”

Our eyes locked, and I didn’t think. I leaned in and brushed my lips against hers. She didn’t respond at

first, but then she started to move her lips against mine. I sped up the kiss, and she put a hand on my

shoulder, pulling me in. I pushed my way into her mouth, wrapping my arms around her waist as I

eagerly explored her mouth. I was out of control, I could not think straight. All I was aware of was her

sweet taste, and the way her fingers tangled in my hair. I wanted to devour her, experience everything

she had to offer, explore the places that no one had explored before. But I couldn’t. Not yet. I forced

myself to break the kiss. I stepped back.

She watched me, breathless, and with wide eyes. “You kissed me.”

“You kissed me back.” I smiled. I was as affected as her, but she was not doing a very good job at hiding

her reaction.

“I did. I kissed you back, and since we are all about being honest, I want to kiss you again.”

“You can.”

“Now?”

I laughed. “That eager?”

“You ended it too soon.”

THE EDGE OF ALWAYS Excerpt

Camryn shrieks and I start laughing as we dash away from the cows and toward the car.

Awww, shiiiit!” I yell when I step in a huge pile of it.

Camryn cackles with laughter and we both practically stumble the rest of the way through the field, me trying to scrape the shit off the bottom of my shoe while running at the same time and Camryn’s flip-flops getting caught on the ground trying to keep up with her feet.

I can’t believe that just happened!” Camryn laughs as we finally make it back to the car. She arches her body over forward and props her hands on her knees, trying to catch her breath.

I’m out of breath, too, but I still relentlessly scrape the bottom of my shoe on the asphalt. “Dammit!” I say, rubbing my foot back and forth.

Camryn jumps up on the hood of the car, letting her legs hang over the front. “Can we finally say that we did it?” she asks with laughter in her voice.

I stand still finally and catch my breath. I look at her, at how beautiful and bright that smile of hers is and I say, “Yeah, babe, I think we can safely mark it off our list.”

Good!” she says.

Then she points behind me. “Do it on the grass,” she says with one side of her mouth pinched into a hard line. “You’re just spreading it around doing it like that.”

I hop over into the grass and start rubbing my foot back and forth again. “Since when did you become an expert on shit?”

Better watch your mouth,” she warns, getting into the driver’s seat.

What are you going to do?” I taunt her.

She starts the Chevelle and revs the engine a few times pressing on the gas. There’s a cruel gleam in her eyes. She props her left arm across the top of the open window and next thing I know she’s driving slowly past me.

I give her the warning eye, but her grin just gets bigger.

I know you won’t leave me here!” I shout as she goes past me.

Surely she wouldn’t….

She gets farther away and at first I call her bluff and just stand here, watching her get smaller and smaller…

Finally, I take off running after the car.

Death and Kisses Book Blast!

Published March 5, 2013 by crysbookreviews

Death and Kisses

“My only thought was for Aden. I ran to him, kicking up water and called out his name. He turned and my heart skidded, crumbled and dropped to my feet. Not Aden, but Brad. Then where was . . .?

I looked down to where Brad’s gaze had been focused, down, down, in the murky water towards the center of the pond. No. Noooo! I shouldn’t be able to see him through the stirred-up sediment, but I did. Pascual was drowning Aden just as he had drowned Brad.”

One night changed Kasey’s life forever. The star football player drowned and everyone at school blames her. And oh, yeah, since that night, she can see ghosts. Not that she’s afraid of them. Much. She’s more concerned with staying under the radar as the school’s once-popular, now outcast loner freak. Until the boy she supposedly killed shows up wanting revenge.

Regardless of Kasey’s outcast status, the hot new guy in school, Aden, wants to help her figure out how to get the angry ghost to leave her alone. So what if he also wants to contact his dead brother? And why are all the ghosts suddenly following Aden around?

How to Marry an Alien by Magan Vernon (My Alien Romance #3)

Published January 19, 2013 by crysbookreviews

How to Marry an Alien

Alex’s interstellar relationship has finally been sealed in the eyes of the human world, so now she can move on to her next step: college.

With Ace by her side and a new piece of jewelry on her finger, she thinks she is ready for anything. Well, almost anything.
Her new roommate holds a dangerous link to her past that Alex isn’t sure if she can handle. Then there is the whole alien fiancé thing. Every time she tries to get closer to Ace, he seems to pull further away. Top that off with a full summer class load and a few more alien attacks and it’s just another day for Alex.

Except this time she isn’t sure if marrying an alien will be the happy ending she’s hoping for. goodreads-badge-add-plus-1

I was waiting forever for this book to come out. There wasn’t a second that I didn’t love this book. I even asked Magan if there would HOPEFULLY be a 4th book on how Alex and Ace were after the wedding. There was somethings that I was not expecting to find out in the book and it made me sad when I heard that.

I love how Alex became friends with everyone, even people from the past that weren’t so nice to her. Of course there were some twists in their relationship and Alex was learning to be more herself and who she wants to be in this book then the other 2 which was great because every 18 year old goes through that.

Ace was as always a sweetheart, I loved how he was always there for Alex no matter what. I can honestly say that I loved his character. He had his moments of brooding but he was definitely one of the nicest male characters I have read in a really long time. Most of the time they are kind of jerks. Don’t get me wrong, I like them too but it was a nice change of pace.

I have read EVERY book by Magan so far and honestly I have loved every one of them. I hope for the 4th book but if that doesn’t happen, I am happy with how the story ended. Ace and Alex had a great love story that had it’s ups and downs like a normal relationship except the guy just so happened to be an alien from another planet, and not only that but royalty on that planet. I hope everyone reads these books and falls in love with the characters like I have.

Tangled by Erica O’Rourke (Torn Trilogy #2)

Published January 7, 2013 by crysbookreviews

Tangled

Constance started to keen as the air around us began to thrash and twist, the caustic scent of ozone burning my nose. As I watched, her dark gold hair began to lift and kink into knots.

“I’m here. It’ll be okay.” It was the last thing I said before my best friend’s little sister went supernova in the second-floor girls’ bathroom, taking me with her.

A month ago, Mo Fitzgerald risked her life to stop an ancient prophecy and avenge her best friend’s murder. Now, she only wants to keep her loved ones safe. But the magic—and the Chicago Mob—have other plans.

Mysterious, green-eyed Luc is back, asking for help—and a second chance. Colin, her strongest protector, is hiding a shocking secret. And inside Constance, the magic is about to go terribly wrong. Tangled in a web of love and betrayal, Mo must choose between the life she’s dreamed of and the one she’s destined for.

goodreads-badge-add-plus-1

Oh wow what a sequel! Erica did a great job with this book. I loved the drama between Mo and Constance. I get why Constance was so angry, I mean who wouldn’t be angry about losing family members all over the place. I get why she treats Mo the way she does but I don’t think Mo deserves it at all.

Oh lord I am still Team Luc although Colin definitely had his moments that were sweet and had me wavering a little bit on whose side I would want Mo to be on. There was just something more between Mo and Luc then there was for Mo and Colin. Of course Colin seemed more good then bad even with his affiliation with her uncle. He definitely had his reasons for working for her uncle. Still I really didn’t think they were worth it too much. I mean they were admirable but I wouldn’t do a life debt with a man like that.

This time there was a lot of drama about the magic. Who knew that when trying to fix it, Mo and Luc would accidentally mess it up even more. I felt so bad for her because of the more guilt that she had on her because of everything. She never seemed to catch a break. This trilogy really surprised me so much. I am not going to give away anything but I definitely recommend reading these books by Erica.
